UwU Inventory Rebalance

Currently, UwUs are backordered at our Dutch fulfillment center, but in stock at our US fulfillment center.

In order to ensure availability for all customers around the world, we are moving some inventory from the US to the EU.

Normally this rebalance would occur before the existing inventory runs out, but unfortunately we're behind schedule on this move and therefore, we've run out of stock in the EU.

Shipment Expectations

The inter-warehouse freight shipment is underway, and we expect these products to arrive at our EU fulfillment center at the start of April.

Shipments to customers can start: 8th of April, 2026

Behind schedule - what gives?

A few operational decisions coupled with some unfortunate timing has resulted in this larger than expected gap in availability.

Wooting became aware in late November that our EU fulfillment center was at risk of running out of stock while our US fulfillment center still had plenty of units available. Based on sales rate at the time, it looked like inventory would run out in the EU around May or June 2026.

At that time, we decided to wait on moving inventory between fulfillment centers until after peak season ended. Not only does this save on freight shipment costs, but more importantly it allowed our fulfillment centers to focus on fulfilling orders ahead of Christmas instead of spending time to repack bulk pallets for an internal transfer. Additionally, our US fulfillment center planned for an end-of-year inventory count during the week of the 16th of January. Therefore, we decided to initiate the warehouse to warehouse transfer after the EOY count was completed.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your perspective) the sales rate of the UwU via our EU fulfillment center increased over the holiday period. This resulted in us running out of inventory several months ahead of expected.

At the same time, when we booked the freight shipment to the EU, we received a less-than-favorable shipment timeframe quote. To make matters worse, we were informed that the original timeframe quoted would not be met due to a delay in the containership arriving at the Port of LA, and therefore would also be delayed arriving to the Port of Rotterdam.
