Welcome to Wootility v5

Wootility v5

Welcome to Wootility's new fresh look. We carefully examined and redesigned every part of Wootility from the ground up. We created something that feels familiar to anyone used to the v4, but gives room for future growth.

It’s been a massive undertaking since the first drafts over a year ago, and today it’s finally ready for everyone to use. Wootility v5 retains backwards compatibility with every Wooting keyboard ever released, all the way from the Wooting One (8 years ago) to the latest 80HE.

Our main focus was on three things:

  1. Create a coherent and clean experience by building a big lego set of buttons, sliders and text to use consistently throughout Wootility.
  2. Create a dedicated menu for profile management, with simple ways to manage them and extra profile customization options.
  3. Rethink how to navigate between different keyboard settings. You’ll quickly and intuitively know where to go to reach “Rapid Trigger” or “Light Indicator” settings.

v4 settings can be easily migrated right to v5. In case of any issues, reverting back to v4 is still possible.

Of course, there are new features to enjoy outside of the major redesign. Let’s jump into some highlights!

Enhanced profile management

  • Profiles are now bundled in a single menu: “My Profiles”
    • Tip: click the profile in the top bar for a quick switch

  • Added an overview of all active and inactive profiles per device

  • Give some flair to your custom profiles with icons and colours

  • Show what shortcut you can use to quickly switch to a onboard profile.
Onboard shortcuts Onboard shortcuts (2)
  • Create a profile using one of 4 templates available (FPS Game Profile, Analog Movement Profile, Racing Profile, Typing Profile)
  • Devices can now have up to 4 profiles rather than strictly needing to have all 4
  • All profiles are Analog Profiles now. The split with Digital Profile was not clear.
  • Changed default profile count to 2 on restore for all keyboards
  • Use the new Profiles from v4 section in My Profiles to assign profiles created in Wootility v4 to a particular device to be used in v5
