v4.7.2 - Rappy Snappy and Snappy Tappy (SOCD)

Released: 31 October 2024

Note: This originally release on the 16th of September. The changelog hadn't previously been posted

Overhauled the ‘Advanced Keys’ tab: we’ve made changes to the ‘Advanced Keys’ tab to make it easier to customize the new features we’ve added.

New Advanced Key features: We’ve added two new features to the ‘Advanced Keys’ tab in Wootility. Both features involve a level of key comparison/monitoring to instruct the keyboard which input(s) to register when two (opposing directional) keys are active at the same time.

These new features will be most useful on the A and D key.

New Advanced feature - Rappy Snappy: This feature compares the press depth of two (opposing) keys and prioritizes the key that is pressed down the furthest. When you press both keys to the end, they’ll both be active.

Pro tip: Bind Rappy Snappy on Alt + Tab, this will prevent accidental alt-tabs scenarios while still allowing you to press Alt + Tab.

New Advanced feature - Snappy Tappy (SOCD): This feature monitors two opposing keys and decides what to do when both are simultaneously active. This is also known as SOCD Cleaning. The default selection (Last input priority) prioritizes the key that was pressed last.

You can set the following for SOCD Cleaning:

  • Last input priority - Prioritize the key that was pressed the last.
  • Absolute Priority (A key) - Always prioritize the A key.
  • Absolute Priority (D key) - Always prioritize the D key.
  • Neutral - When both keys are activated, neither is registered.

In addition, you can turn on “Alternative fully pressed behavior”. This will still allow you to have both keys active when both are fully pressed to the end.

Available on all Wooting keyboards: The new features are available on all Wooting keyboards, including our first keyboards delivered in 2017: the Wooting one.

Other news: Snappy Tappy (original name was SOCD) is the new marketing name for SOCD. Thanks to the winning comment from botcarrys5997 with 6.7k likes in our SOCD youtube video 👏 We will continue to reference SOCD to set the record straight.

Changes since v4.7.1:

  • Added a warning to Snappy Tappy (SOCD) informing users that is disallowed in CS2
  • Added a redirect to Wootility v5 when an 80HE is detected
