Logistics Coordinator / Full-time / Taiwan
Job description
You have a knack for international logistics. Your organized mindset keeps the flow of goods running and your experience in the world of logistics finds new opportunities for Wooting to excel in its operations, meeting delivery estimates while saving costs. Your responsibilities range from, but not limited to, managing inventory levels, coordinating cross-border freight, shipments and deliveries, analyzing shipping costs and efficiency, and documentation of movement.
During your weekly check through all production ready dates, you find that a supplier will soon complete a purchase order (PO). You immediately get started by checking the shipment destinations of the PO and cross referencing it with the current and forecasted stock levels that you’ve helped setup. You find out that there’s a large shortage in the Netherlands (NLD) warehouse, what happened that it deviated so much from your forecast?
After discussion with your colleagues and/or the operations manager, you find out there was a surge in sales from an emerging market. To ease the immediate problem, you reallocate stock from the USA to the Netherlands.
You prepare a shipment plan that entails the stock allocation, warehouse labels, estimated packing volume/weight, and other information relevant to execute the shipment. You send it to the supplier to make sure stock is allocated accordingly and start requesting quotes from our partner forwarders.
The shipment is on its way, just like 4 other shipments, you’re keeping an eye on their status and keeping the customer-facing teams informed on what to expect. You suddenly see that a shipment got significantly delayed, you need to update the estimated arrival in our purchase order system, impacting delivery estimates visible by customers. You discuss with the operations manager which batches are impacted and what the reason is, so he can write an update for customers.
The shipment arrived, internal systems can be updated, stock level double-checked, batch shipments can be executed by your colleagues.
In the meanwhile, you noticed that there are monthly shipment from few suppliers and decide to negotiate a new route contract with the forwarder. In addition, you figure if it’s combined in a container, we can save costs, perhaps something that can also be arranged with the forwarder. You enjoy the challenge.
