v5.3.0 Summary

This release makes Switch Selector stable, introduces Analog Interface v2 for improved key press visualisation, adds configurable Gamepad polling rate, and brings RGB effect support to Virtual Clipboard. It also includes calibration improvements and various quality-of-life updates.

[ARM] Switch Selector is now stable

First introduced as an opt-in beta feature, Switch Selector lets you configure which switches you have installed so Wootility can optimise calibration, switch performance and analog accuracy for your specific setup. It launches with support for 28 switch types and their variants, and we'll continue to add more.

Spacer support is also included. If you have spacers installed, you can select those keys and enter the spacer size for accurate calibration. O-ring support is still in beta since they compress under pressure, which makes calibration trickier.

Switch Selector supports Wooting Lekker v1/v2 and Lekker Tikken switches alongside the following third-party switches: Gateron Jade Gaming, Gateron Jade Pro, Gateron Jade Ruby, Gateron Jade Ultra, Gateron Jade Emerald, Gateron Spark, Geon Raw HE, Geon Raptor HE V2, GravaStar UFO, KeyTok Nova, MMD C1, OwLab Ti HE, PHYLINA ThunderFlash, Squashy Boy SquisHE, TTC KOM RGB, TTC KOM POM, TTC KOM Flip, TTC King, TTC Horse, Unionwell Xueyao (Snow Shine), Urion Ice Ultra and Extreme, Wuque Studio Diamond and Wuque Studio Flux.

Key press visualisation with Analog Interface v2

Wootility now uses the updated analog protocol, which provides additional context for every key press, including its physical position on the keyboard and actuation state. You can try it out in the visual feedback tester in the Actuation Point tab, or test your Rappy Snappy/SOCD settings with their dedicated testers.

Configurable Gamepad Polling Rate

Gamepad polling rate is now configurable up to 8000 Hz on the Wooting 80HE and 60HEv2, and up to 1000 Hz on all other devices. Gamepad axis and trigger reports were also updated to higher resolution for more precise analog inputs.

[ARM] Actuation Point Precision

Actuation Point step size has been halved from 0.1mm to 0.05mm, giving you finer control over your actuation settings.

Virtual Clipboard improvements

Virtual Clipboard now supports copying dynamic RGB effects between main layers of profiles. Use the three-dot menu on layers or keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+C/Cmd+C to copy and Ctrl+V/Cmd+V to paste.

Device Onboarding improvements

Arrow key layout selection now shows live preview on your keyboard during onboarding - hover over each layout option to see exactly where the arrows will be positioned on your keyboard.

General

  • Better support for Home Row Mod use cases, via new ModTap JIT option: activate the Tap key, ensuring that typing with Mod Tap on alpha keys won't result in characters being out of intended order.
  • Added animated switch visuals for actuation feedback (except for Flaretech).
  • [ARM] Live RGB preview now extends to the Wootility intro screen, firmware update flow, onboarding and Remap tab.
  • Profile bindings have been renamed from A0-A3 to P1-P4.
  • Improved LED range slider component for Light Indicator effects.
  • Added new device information popup.
  • Keys with no binding now show a warning, informing you the key won't input anything.
  • Keys with an analog Gamepad binding now show a tooltip explaining they use Analog Curve settings instead of Actuation Point and Rapid Trigger.
  • Keys with Advanced Keys configured are now shown as disabled in the Remap tab, since Advanced Key settings override remapping.
  • If you have multiple Fn keys configured on a layer, you can now assign other bindings to them on their Fn layer.
  • When an update is available for the web app (PWA), the notification will show the new version number.
  • Smoother keyboard animation transitions between gradient effects and Live RGB preview.
  • Renamed Rapid Trigger “Separate press/release sensitivity” to “Split Sensitivity”.
  • Demo mode now allows full access to all features, making it easier for translators to review the interface.
  • Minor UI tweaks.

Fixes

  • Fixed undo/redo applying changes in the wrong order when editing global effects for Light Indicator.
  • Various crash fixes and minor improvements.
