Wootility v5: What You Told Us
Earlier this year, on the 20th of February, Wootility v5 went live and brought major changes to Wootility: a new layout, new logic, and a new design. You can try it for yourself here right in your browser. To get an idea of how you liked the changes and to identify where we needed to improve, we shared a survey in Wootility and our Discord channel. Over 6,000 people responded. Here’s what we learned.
Who responded?

Most respondents were already familiar with Wootility. About 76% came from Wootility v4 (the older version), while 24% had no experience with earlier versions. Among them:
• 66% use the Wooting 60HE
• 26% use the Wooting 80HE
• 8% use earlier models
It’s great to see so many people frequently using Wootility:
• 48% of users open Wootility daily
• 66% use it multiple times a week
This shows that Wootility isn’t just a one-time setup tool. It’s used regularly to change settings.
Some of you only used it once or occasionally. Either because your setup is already how you want it, or because you’re unsure what else the software can do. That’s something we’ll need to look into.
What v5 does well
Overall, you gave Wootility v5 a 4.5 out of 5 rating.
The new visual design, ease of use, and stability got the highest marks. Navigability scored slightly lower, likely due to the updated layout.
Experienced users saw clear improvements across the board compared to v4.
Where v5 can improve
The two lowest-rated areas were:
• Feature explanations
• Feature discoverability
Some users, both new and experienced, didn’t realize certain features existed, couldn’t find them, or didn’t understand how they worked.
We’ll be working on:
• Onboarding to help new users explore Wootility
• Better in-app guidance to explain advanced functionality
Feature requests
Looking at the open comments with feature requests, these came up most often:
• More RGB customization
• Macros
• Ability to link profiles to applications
• An in-app, community-driven profile library
Bugs and issues
Out of 6,378 respondents, 546 (8.6%) submitted a bug report. The most common issues were:
• Connection problems (keyboard not recognized)
• Keys becoming unresponsive
• Problems during the v5 update process
We’re constantly fixing reported bugs, which is why we update Wootility regularly.
Who still prefers v4
Even though people don’t always embrace change right away, only 3.15% reverted back to v4. Most did so due to preference or familiarity with the old layout.
What’s next
Thanks to your feedback, we’ve identified what we should work on next to further improve Wootility v5:
• Better onboarding
• Contextual help to explain features as you go
• Making it easier to discover and use advanced settings
We need you!
Wootility v5 might be up and running, we’re not slowing down. We’re actually looking for an additional developer to help us take it further and develop what’s next for our users.
