UI/UX Designer (Medior)

Netherlands / Denmark / Germany

Job Description

Together with the Wooting Web Team, you’ll help design and evolve one of our most essential platforms: our website. As a direct-to-consumer company, our website isn’t just a storefront. It’s our Platform for Customer Experience, the place where product discovery, customer support, account management, and e-commerce all come together. Every customer touchpoint happens here, which makes this platform central to Wooting’s success.

What it’s like

With a coffee ready and some smooth jazz (or black metal) in the background you open Slack to check your personal messages, threads and other stuff the people at Wooting have been sharing, some informative about other projects and some personal, sharing movies, books or weekend photo’s.

A moment later you open Gather to join your direct colleagues in the Weekly Web Workshop. The ongoing projects, as well as the upcoming initiatives are discussed and since you’ve just finished a milestone in your project, you present what you’ve been working on and what’s next.

You’ve been working on the Wooting Web design system. Some components were in dire need of review and you managed to nail it. From the coherence with the system at large, down to the details, it just fits. You also came up with an idea about micro-interactions while working on the components, these would enhance the user experience, so you pitch your initial concept and first drafts to the team. The rest of the day you’re working on the next milestone, interrupted by a meeting where you give feedback on a developers implementation of your work.

Tomorrow you’ll have a brainstorm with a select group of colleagues. The goal is to come up with ideas to A/B test certain webpages. You did some exploration on the webpage already so you know where the low hanging fruit is and where the real challenges are.

With Wooting growing rapidly, expanding and strengthening our web experience is crucial. Coherent user-flows, consistent interfaces and a solid design system are at the base of this. Through research, testing, experimenting and great design your role will be key to achieve this.
